In recent days, a large number of sellers have received new verification notifications from Amazon. Judging from the verification methods and required materials, many sellers have called it the strictest in history!

  1. A large number of sellers are required to prove the authenticity of their accounts and inventory

According to Article 3 of Amazon's Business Solutions Agreement, your account is currently undergoing review. During the review period, we will revoke your permission to create Amazon Logistics shipments and withhold your funds in accordance with the 'Funds Retention Policy'. The reason for taking this measure is that we believe that your account or related accounts are suspected of engaging in deceptive or illegal activities (such as selling counterfeit inventory, thus infringing intellectual property rights), which has had a negative impact on buyers and our mall.

Amazon further requires sellers to prove the need to participate in video interviews to verify the authenticity of their accounts and inventory. Does this leave many sellers with questions in their minds?

Authenticity of inventory is a term that many sellers have heard of for the first time, and verifying the authenticity of accounts is quite common. According to Seller's Home, there are generally two situations that trigger account authenticity verification:

1、 System scan number:

Amazon usually conducts bulk scanning and verification during peak season. Amazon believes that the products provided by your account are inappropriate and may be used for fraudulent or illegal activities, causing harm to customers, other sales partners, and the Amazon platform.

2、 Someone complained

Competitors or brand owners. Most of them are brand owners or brand owners' legal teams that review brand lines; Accused by the buyer of imitating other well-known products with extremely similar appearance, but the details page contains misleading content, which the buyer considers to be counterfeit goods.

Another situation that triggered the video verification this time is that some sellers have reported that more than ten of their old stores have received emails, and all the goods are on the whitelist, but there is no brand. In addition, the seller had a brand in their new store in March this year, but the brand was applied for by another company. After selling in the form of a whitelist for several months, they authorized the brand to the new store. Unexpectedly, all listings in the store are now not searched or edited, and they are also required to undergo video interviews.

Some sellers have analyzed that this may be due to the lack of brand registration for the product, and the fact that one brand has authorized multiple stores, leading Amazon to suspect that your inventory has triggered an audit.

Revoking the permission to create Amazon logistics shipments and withholding funds as a punishment is very serious. Sellers should actively appeal, otherwise they may miss the peak season in the second half of the year and the funds may not be recovered.

  1. Seller: The legal representative asks three questions and doesn't know

According to Amazon's requirements, the conditions for appeal are:

1、 Provide the necessary verification materials

Including but not limited to business license, ID card, invoice and receipt, supplier information (supplier name, phone number, address and website), quantity of goods, import or export documents (bill of lading, commercial invoice and packing list), brand authorization letter authorizing you to use trademarks, designs, patents or copyrights.

2、 Participate in video interviews to verify the authenticity of accounts and inventory

Amazon requires attendees to be the owners and operators of the store, which is a mandatory requirement. Partners who are inseparable from business operations can also attend, which is an additional stakeholder.

As for the results of the video interview, Amazon will reply with the review results within 5 working days.

Many sellers encounter many problems during this video interview, most of which are due to the legal representative's lack of understanding of operational knowledge, often leading to confusion; Also, the old store cannot be contacted by the legal representative anymore. A seller said, "Our account was also scanned because the legal representative couldn't answer several questions, the video verification didn't pass, and the account has been suspended

Regarding this, some experienced sellers suggest that the materials for appeal must be detailed and truthful. Before the video interview, it is necessary to provide training to the legal representative to ensure that they can answer questions fluently during the interview. Alternatively, it is recommended to seek out experienced operators for the interview to facilitate timely response when the legal representative is unable to answer questions.

However, according to some sellers who have participated in video interviews, there will be fewer questions asked when the legal representative participates alone, and there will be more video review issues and greater difficulty when the operation participates. So sellers must be prepared, after all, Amazon only has one chance for video review. If the video fails, it will be judged as fraud, and the difficulty of subsequent payment will also be very high.
